  • Integrity is an American hardcore punk band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. The group was originally a concept band founded by Dwid Hellion (b. 1971 as John "Jack" McLimans) as an inside joke among Cleveland area hardcore and metal musicians, featuring artwork, stickers and album concepts even before they had any music. A native of Northeast Ohio who graduated from Mentor High School, Hellion relocated to Belgium in 2003. Their 1996 release, Humanity is the Devil, featured cover artwork by legendary musician and artist Pushead, who is widely known for his contributions to metal, punk, and skateboard culture. While their studio and live lineups have varied widely with the exception of vocalist Dwid Hellion, the band has been active since 1988. They were among the Victory Records lineup that included artists such as Strife, Earth Crisis, Snapcase, and Warzone. Their recent lineups have played numerous international shows and festivals including the 2016 "This is Hardcore" festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and "Amnesia Rock Fest" in Montebello, Canada. In 2016, a twentieth anniversary edition of Humanity is the Devil was rereleased by Organized Crime Records. 2017 marks the release of their tenth full-length studio album, Howling, For the Nightmare Shall Consume (Relapse Records).
